He packed his lunch in a tin box, tucked his shirt in and put a waistcoat over the top of it, because that is what you did. Nobody called it fashion. It was just how you pitched up.

And then there was a time when Barry had a wedding to get to. His, as it happened, to Alex. He took that same intention, rooted it in the old scaffolding foreman silhouette, and gave it a denim identity and a Peaky Blinders edge. THE DAPPER WAISTCOAT was born seven beautiful years ago, and it has been with us ever since.
