METRO= WHARFIE JUMPER / MADDER RED

THE STORY:

Blokes have been asking us the same question for years. Every winter. Is there a METRO= version of the AH SHACKLETON?

There is now.

“Wharfie” is slang for wharf worker. Someone who hauls rope and loads ships in weather that has no interest in his comfort. The WHARFIE JUMPER is made for him. Square, chunky, knitted in Cape Town from South African mohair, the finest in the world. An industry inadvertently established by a pregnant Turkish ewe in 1838. She was accompanied aboard ship to the Cape by 12 neutered Angora rams gifted by the Sultan of Turkey. He wanted to be the good guy and share but protect his mohair monopoly at the same time. Sneaky sultan. He never knew of the ewe’s condition which quietly changed the course of textile history as her offspring thrived in the perfect conditions of the Karoo.  You’ve got to love that story!

Miracles come in many forms. The WHARFIE comes in five colours. 70 jumpers. Cape Town made. South African mohair.

And when they’re gone, they’re gone!
